Sam Forstag: Smoke Jumping, Union Organizing, and the Fight for Montana’s First District
Sam Forstag spent eight years on the fire line, four of them as a smoke jumper, before he organized the response when the federal government cut the people who manage wildfires. Now he is running for Montana's First District with a campaign built on defending public lands and rebuilding the agencies that protect...

FORSTAG’S CLOSING MESSAGE: You should only have to work one good job and afford a roof over your head, health coverage that gets you care, childcare, and a stable retirement.
FORSTAG: The amount of money in our politics is a poison that is infecting every other piece of our government.
FORSTAG MAKES IT CLEAR: I'm so tired of working people being told that we should settle for scraps while the richest people in this country get permanent relief. That is all backwards. I'll be fighting for working people, not for those corporations.
FORSTAG: When it comes to the Steelworkers over at Stillwater Mine, only one of us showed up while they were on the picket line picketing against a South African mining company, and only one of us has the Steelworkers endorsement. That is me. I'll stand with those union members.
FORSTAG BLASTS FLINT: God, I would love to see an actual concrete commitment to say we're not going to allow data centers on our public lands. ‘Public lands in public hands’? That’s the same thing we hear from every politician. It means nothing. We need action.
FORSTAG: AI Aaron Flint has received north of $590,000 from an AI super PAC already. They're flooding $150 million, these AI companies, into our elections just this year. We cannot afford another puppet for AI companies as a congressman. I'll fight for you, not those companies.
FORSTAG: We don't solve a housing crisis, a broken health care system, a lack of affordable child care with more empty words and empty suits. We do it by actually reaching across our differences.
Good morning, Montana! Ballots are being sent out to mailboxes across the state *today!*
Now it’s time to make a plan to vote! So how are you planning to vote?
By mail? Fantastic! Get those ballots in as soon as you can.
NEW AD:
Turn on the TV lately and all you'll see from Aaron Flint is fear and lies–plusa lot of dirty money being spent to distract from the fact that he doesn’t have any plans to solve our problems.
So, let’s cut the crap.
Need some good news today? Well, you’re in luck!
Because we are winning!! Despite tech billionaires and party boss SuperPACs dumping millions of dollars into this race to try and help their political puppet Aaron Flint, the most recent poll shows us up by three!
We Didn’t Start The Fire with Sam Forstag
James and Al celebrate the excellent candidates running for office and their growing prospects in the midterms, shame Trump for his renewed war on the press and the 1st Amendment, and make the point that the administration is focusing on the trivial when the world is on fire.
